Ricardo Cruz Fuentes. Born in Mexico City around 1982 when the days were less gray and weight had three zeros, I lived and raised my first 25 years of life in the State of Mexico and currently based in the city of Pachuca, Hidalgo. I showed dibujísticas trends since childhood, so that over the years led me to pursue a career in graphic design technique and today to devote to the visual arts. Although having the foundations in graphic design, the clear awareness of painting I learned self-taught, leading me in 2007 to do my first work in oil and this being the technique that I have more focus. With a few years devoted to painting I have achieved a significant number of sales around Mexico and the United States, Spain and Colombia; well now be represented in Art Fusion Galleries in Miami, Florida, USA.
-Artist Statement
In my work (at least most) is a lot of my sarcastic sense of mood and simplistic projected. I seek with my compositions make the spectator becomes involved by expressions of relatively everyday moments seasoned with the grace that makes us own absurdity and sometimes contradictory facets of the human being.
Certainly uncommon in my works look philosophize about deep or controversial issues; I basically focus to capture those moments that give a special \"seasoning\" to life through actions, ideas and phrases that define people.
Although I not intend visual realism in my work, if I look that they are legible and easy to interpret for the viewer.
Today and for some time now, I have tasted (in so far as possible) to put aside the brush to apply the paint directly with my fingers, slowly changing detail expression in line and color, plus this allows me elaborate and better capture the ideas and images in my head, while process becomes more fun.
In the words of Gustave Flaubert ... I work because I enjoy art, but I have faith in the beautiful.
